Solstice is AI software that helps you organise a matter and draft documents. It is not a person and not a lawyer, does not represent you, and does not give legal advice. Solstice is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. Everything it produces is a draft that a person must review and take responsibility for.

⚖️ Solstice

Clients

A client is one individual human, and the hard confidentiality boundary: matters, facts, documents and search all live inside exactly one client and never cross between them. Pick the active client before creating anything.

Whose matter is this?

Are you using Solstice for yourself, or for someone else?

Solstice can help you understand and organize their matter. In most courts, only they or a licensed attorney can file for them.

Have any papers already been filed in this case?

Buckets

Cases

Tasks

Task Buckets

A group of related tasks that must be filed together. Tasks may only join a task-bucket in their own bucket.

Facts

Scope inspector — exclusion state

For a bucket or task-bucket, preview the exact fact set a scope draft will use — facts excluded anywhere in the scope are vetoed (strict). For a task, see its per-task effectively excluded state.

Matter notes

Documents

Deleted

Deleting a document does not destroy it — it waits here, hidden from your lists, folders and search, and can be restored intact. After the retention window it is deleted permanently.

New document

Document

Add a new version
Sections — structure the document into headed parts; edit / regenerate one at a time

Draft the whole document as sections on the swarm, or add sections by hand. Assemble writes the sections (in order) as a new document version.

Draft-sections generates an outline then drafts each section (replaces existing sections) and assembles a new version. The model used is named in the result.

One MyCase login and one Our Family Wizard login per client (the OFW form is at the bottom of this tab). Manage clients on the Matters tab. One MyCase login and one Our Family Wizard login for this matter (the OFW form is at the bottom of this tab). You set whose matter it is on the Matters tab.

⚠️ Read this before you enter a court-portal password

This is the risky path, and the risk lands on you — not on this software. Utah's MyCase User Agreement says two things that this feature does not comply with:

“…you also agree not to knowingly or negligently transfer into MyCase any harmful or defamatory material or use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access MyCase for any purpose.” — §1, License
“You agree not to share either your Username or your Password with any other person, including any family member, friend, associate, or legal representative.” — §2, Account and Password

There is no exception for your own case file. Storing your password here is sharing it, even though it is encrypted. Your MyCase access is granted under a licence the court can revoke, so if the court treats this as a violation, it is your portal account that gets suspended or terminated.

You do not have to do this. Download the documents from MyCase yourself and upload them here instead — you get the same OCR, search and citations over them, and that path breaks no rules. This form exists because it was chosen deliberately, not because it is the recommended route.

If you continue: the password is encrypted before it is written to the database, is never returned by any screen or API here, and is decrypted only in memory for the length of a single login. It is deleted — not just flagged — if the portal ever reports it as expired, and again 90 days after you enter it, whether or not it still works; after that you simply enter it again. You can delete it yourself at any time.

Utah MyCase login

Stored for the active client — one login per client.Stored for the person you're working on — one login. Re-entering replaces the old one.

Download a case file

Logs in, walks the docket, downloads every document, and OCRs every page. It runs in the background — there is no synchronous mode.

Sync history

⚠️ Read this before you enter an Our Family Wizard password

The risk lands on you, not on this software. OurFamilyWizard publishes no API, so anything that later reads your messages, calendar or expense log for you has to sign in to your account with a browser. Its Terms of Service say:

“Users may not obtain or attempt to obtain any materials or information through any means not intentionally made available or provided for through the Software.”
“You are solely responsible for (1) maintaining the strict confidentiality of assigned Authentication Methods…”
“Upon a User’s breach of these Terms, We may immediately suspend a User’s right to access and use the Software.”

Storing your password here is sharing it, even encrypted, and an automated sign-in may be treated as a means OFW did not intentionally make available. If OFW suspends your account, it is your account — and if a court ordered you to communicate through OFW, a suspension can leave you unable to comply with that order.

You do not have to do this. OFW lets you download your own message, calendar and expense reports as PDFs; upload those into this client'syour case instead and you get the same OCR, search and citations with none of this risk.

If you continue: the password is encrypted before it is written to the database, is never returned by any screen or API here, and is deleted 90 days after you enter it. Storing it also creates a private browser profile for this login, named for your account, this clientperson and the OFW username — and that profile is destroyed whenever the password is: when you delete the login, when it reaches 90 days, or when the clientperson or your account is deleted. Storing the login signs that profile in to OFW once, to check the password works. A sign-in is never retried: OFW counts failed sign-ins against your account, and after a few refusals in a row the stored password and its profile are deleted.

Our Family Wizard

Stored for the active client — one OFW login per client.Stored for the person you're working on — one OFW login. Re-entering replaces it; a different username replaces its browser profile too.

Draft a document

Produces a draft for review, not legal advice. Solstice is software, not a lawyer, and does not represent you — nothing it writes is filed, served, or final. It is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney.

Every draft is saved to your documents — a long one runs as a background job, and nothing generated is thrown away. If you decide you do not want it, delete it afterwards; deleted documents wait in Deleted and can be restored.

Both buttons run the same pipeline now — plan the document, draft each section in its own bounded pass, then check it (structural checks, a per-section review, and a whole-document read for contradictions). Iterative reports the section list and what the checks found. Per-section is always on, so that box changes nothing. Background job returns immediately and delivers the finished document via swarm push; a long draft is promoted to one automatically.

Brainstorm

You are talking with an AI, not a person or a lawyer. A conversation, not a document. Ask anything about your situation and talk it through — angles, strategies, what the other side will say, what you still need to find out. It will not write a filing, and it is not legal advice — Solstice is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney. Every conversation is saved so you can come back to it; delete one to remove it. No client needed. It works before you've said whose matter this is.

Shared containers

A shared container (Matter Group) holds facts & documents that several matters have in common. Link it to any number of buckets; a linked bucket inherits the container's content into its drafts automatically (you can suppress a container per-draft). Excluding an inherited fact on one bucket drops it there only; the container-level veto (🚫) denies it to every linked bucket.
